The Funky Dawgz Brass Band is bringing the music of the Big Easy to the North East! Formed in 2012, this 11-piece New Orleans-style brass band is exploding onto the live music scene with a high-energy blend of brass and percussion. Though based in their home state of Connecticut, they are inspired by the rich musical heritage and traditions of the Crescent City. They offer an exciting mix of New Orleans favorites, their own original music, and add a brass twist to today’s top hits!
The brainchild of Mr. Marvin McNeill, the Funky Dawgz Brass Band met at the University of Connecticut, where each member was a part of the UConn Marching Band. In addition to performing stage shows, the group strives to use their musical talents in giving back to their community. The Funky Dawgz were originally formed as a vehicle to connect, engage, inspire, and rejuvenate music education in Connecticut’s inner city schools. They frequently give performances and master classes to young musicians in elementary, middle, and high schools across the state.

The hallmark of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy while performing a task. We also often connect flow with a sense of ease and fluidity. Vinyasa Yoga has long been associated with a flow of asanas (postures), that in time becomes almost effortless. However, finding our flow (both on and off the mat) can often be difficult. Too often we're faced with challenges that off set our balance, shake our confidence and disrupt our flow. In this class, Vanessa will lay the foundation for finding your flow. By using seamless sequencing, careful alignment and connection to breath we begin to set up for flow. However, the channeling and aligning our energies can really allow us to experience the magic of flow. Join Vanessa, and step into your flow in this illuminating and heart lifting class.

Nahko, an Oregon-native born a mix of Apache, Puerto Rican, and Filipino cultures and adopted into an American family, suffered an identity crisis from an early age. When he took up the piano at age six, the unifying power of music entered his life and brought him harmony. Armed with his newfound talent, he set out to bridge the cultural gaps dividing his own psyche. He began producing a public, musical journal of his journey toward personal, spiritual, and communal healing, and thus Medicine for the People was born.
Recently, Nahko discussed his successes, his philosophies, his music, and his life with Huffington Post, who called Nahko’s music “beautiful and stirring,” comparing him to Bob Marley and proclaiming him a “musical prophet.”

Tall County is a Hudson Valley-based trio writing and playing stripped-down songs on strung-up instruments. They share a fondness for old songs from forgotten corners of the country, sparse arrangements and speedy fiddle and guitar breaks.
The band released Shine, an EP comprising four originals and a lonely cover, in March of 2013. It's available on this site and on iTunes and at a terrific little music shop in the Adirondacks called Ampersound.

Raised in an eclectic musical household, Natalie Cressman has only continued to diversify and expand her musical universe. Still in her early 20s, the trombonist/composer/vocalist has assimilated the full range of her sonic influences into a startlingly mature, strikingly original voice that melds the sophistication of modern jazz with captivating storytelling and intoxicating melodies reminiscent of indie rock's most distinctive songwriters.
Cressman has spent much of the last four years touring the jam band circuit with Phish's Trey Anastasio, while also performing with jazz luminaries Nicholas Payton, Wycliffe Gordon, and Peter Apfelbaum. Those varied experiences are reflected on her gorgeous second release, Turn the Sea. Anastasio calls the album "a beacon of light in an increasingly cold and mechanized era of music. Natalie is standing on the precipice of an incredible life in music, and if this album is any indication of where she's headed, then I'll be listening every step of the way."
“We feel comfortable not knowing exactly where we’re headed,” says Red Baraat’s founder and bandleader Sunny Jain. “We’re very much about trying things out and taking risks. Sometimes it doesn’t work,” he laughs, “and sometimes we stumble upon things that are really exciting.”
Landing squarely in the latter category is Gaadi of Truth, the third and latest full-length studio effort from the New York dhol and brass ensemble. While still retaining many of the propulsive and uplifting musical elements that fired their first two albums, 2010’s Chaal Baby and 2012’s Shruggy Ji— and which led NPR to famously dub Red Baraat “The best party band in years” — Gaadi of Truthis an even deeper affair, both instrumentally and conceptually.
rez blends yesterday's roots with the innovative urban beats of today. His accomplishments during his gradual evolution from hip-hop DJ to world music tastemaker have made him one of the top DJs and producers in LA's underground music scene.
When he isn't in the studio producing, spinning at an underground hip-hop club or jamming with local artists in impromptu late night sessions, you'll find him at yoga festivals and studios, spinning the perfect flow to accompany classes and workshops before lighting up the dancefloor by night with his eclectic, organic mixes. He is the musical director of the Wanderlust Spectacular, performs regularly with MC Yogi and Kirtaniyas and has appeared at Lightning In a Bottle, Symbiosis, AfroFunke and dozens of other high-profile events.
