Amanda Giacomini

Amanda Giacomini is an internationally recognized yoga teacher, artist, and illustrator.  As a yogini, she began her studies over twenty years ago with indian master Shri K. Pattabhi Jois in India and San Francisco teacher Larry Shultz.  At age 25, during her first yoga teaacher training she met her husband, Nicholas, who would later become know as the hip-hop artis MC Yogi.  The pair begain to weave a creative life together, based on a common goal to uplift the world through yoga, music and, art.  In 2001, they founded their studio Yoga toes studio in Point Reyes, CA.  Since then, MC Yogi and Amanda have taught all over the world at yoga festivals and conferences, elementary schools, yoga studios, teaching centers, art museums includind the Smithsonian, The Crow Collection in Dallas, The San Freancisco Asian Art Museum, and even The White House.  In 2011, Amanda was invited to become a faith ambassador to Michelle Obama;s Let Move initiative.  In May 2013, Amanda appeared on the cover of Yoga Journal and has been featured many times inside the magazine as well as in other natuional yoga publications including Yoga International and Origins Magazine.  As an artist, Amanda has illustrated the award winning Mo's Nose children's books that feature her rescued pit bull, Mo, along a unique press-2-smell technology that dispenses aroma therapy while you read.  She has also been working on a series of fine oil paintings that illustrate mythology from Buddhist abd Hindu traditions.  She has been invited to share her work at the Dallas Asian Art Museum and the SF Asian Art Museum.  When she is on tour with MC Yogi, she provides live visual art for the shows; a mash-up of original animations, spriitual sympols, vintage Bollywood films, and footage of classic yoga and hip-hop culture.
